Kia Niro EV Has Finally Arrived!

kia niro ev

I ordered my Kia Niro EV4 from Rodgers of Brixton back on the 11th May 2022 and it finally arrived on Thursday 20th October 2022. The colour is runway red. The service from the sales department at Kia was very good and I can recommend anyone wanting a Kia Niro EV to contact Jordan who did an excellent job.

I was sad to see my 64 kWh Hyundai Kona go after 12000 trouble free miles. My only complaint with the Kona was the size of the boot which was quite small. I give my car names and the Kona was called Boris as it was true blue in colour and I bought it at the height of Boris Johnsons popularity back in 2019! So it was no surprise once Boris Johnson was so quickly disposed of as PM and party leader that it was also time to replace my Boris.

First impressions of my Kia Niro EV4 are very favourable. It has a bigger boot and rear seating space. It is a much higher trim level than my Kona SE and appears to have a better build quality. The performance is very similar, not that I need a fast 0-62 time these days. It has memory seats and a much better heads up display.

Its economy is slightly worse than the Kona at the moment but not by a great amount and the car is still getting used to my driving style. One major feature for buying was its vehicle to load capability. This means I can plug a 3 pin electric appliance directly into the car and use its main battery to power that appliance. This could be very useful if we start to get frequent power cuts.(I have christened this one KEV, Kia Electric Vehicle).

With just 200 miles on the clock so far it is too early for me to give a detailed review but you can get a better idea of the car from watching the below video.
