Solar Generation For 4 Months And Change To Octopus Energy

I have had to combine my solar generation report this time into a 4 month period. This is because in April 2023 I was moved from BULB to Octopus Energy as a result of BULB ceasing to trade. This move has caused me endless problems with establishing accurate billing. I did not receive an electric bill for two months only gas. I complained and had the worst customer service experience from any utility company I have used to date. This consisted of emails which were answered but did not address the issue in any way whatsoever to most emails being ignored. I started their complaints process and this to was ignored after the initial response. I ended up emailing Greg Jackson the company director. Obviously he never got to see my email but it was directed to an appropriate person who finalised the complaint and offered £40 compensation for the poor customer service.

However the method of billing from Octopus is still a dogs dinner. It does not cover month to month starting on the first of the month and ending on the last day of the month like BULB. I get bills which start and stop at odd days mid month which is very random. This means it is not easy to calculate a full monthly bill.

So onto Solar generation for the last 4 months.

April 2023 was a washout, May 2023 and July 2023 were also very poor. June was the only improvement with 828.85 kWh which was an improvement over the previous best of 781.11 in June 2022.

This has meant for the first time ever in July I have had to import electricity overnight to charge the Tesla battery from the grid. This shows just how weak and dull July 2023 has been here in Devon.

As for Costs for the 4 months I am not even going to attempt to unpick the bills. Below is just one page from a 34 page PDF bill for last month. You can see the comparison to my old BULB account here

I am on the Octopus Go tariff which for me is as below:

The only good news is that I have had my Feed In Tariff letter saying my payment in August will be £238.39 from the 1st April until the 1st July 2023.
