steve freemanWelcome to the Steve Freeman Blog.

At the time of writing I am in my late 60’s and not some computer wiz kid as you can see from my picture. I am a retired Police Officer after serving 30 years with the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary. I live in Devon England and am married with one son.

I first started on the internet in 2007 after retiring from the Police. At that time I bought into the BANS software (Build A Niche Store) and started earning commissions from sales on eBay.

This all ended with the Google Penguin and Panda updates which stopped sending traffic to these commission only websites and thus wiped out any income by this method from the internet.

I then took a back seat in terms of earning for myself and tried to focus on growing traffic to Karen’s Antique Silver Business and website. However in 2017 she retired the Silver Business. I have since deleted that silver website but I have moved my helpful explanation on how to read and identify English Silver Hallmarks to this blog and you can read it here: English Silver Maker Marks.

Following Karen retiring in 2017 we acquired a Clumberdoodle called Archie and you can read about him more on Karen’s Blog:  Archie took over the household since upon his arrival. He was very good at getting us out of the house for long walks and exercise. Sadly in October 2024 Archie passed away aged 7 years after a very short and sudden illness.

I continue to be fascinated by the Internet and thus have kept this blog running. The internet is a fast changing environment with developments such as artificial Intelligence that has such great potential for good but does contain its dark side.

This blog will contain my own ramblings on my hobbies such as woodturning and electric vehicles, solar energy and life in general so please do leave comments on the blog and do share on social media as this will really help the blog.

PS There are still adverts and the odd affiliate link on the blog and these hopefully will help towards the running costs.

Thanks for stopping by my own little corner of the internet.

Kind Regards

Steve Freeman
