Antique Silver Makers Marks App Now Live For Iphones & Ipads
Great News, my Silver Makers Marks Application has finally been approved by Apple and is now live at the Itunes store for download to your Apple Iphone or Ipad. Here is the link Silver Makers Marks. It is also available on Google Play for Android smart phone users here Silver Makers Marks. This is my first efforts at designing and creating an application for a mobile device.
In my earlier post Silver Makers Marks App I described the process I went through using the company Bizness Apps to create and built the application. The main reason for the delay in acceptance by Apple was the quality of the screen images I had created myself. Now I am a stubborn individual and try to learn all the processes to do myself. However graphic design and software like Photoshop beat me every time. Apple forced me to out source this aspect to a professional. I chose Gary Harrison Design a free lance graphic designer from London to design my main screen shots and logo.
I found Gary to be very helpful and professional. I made contact with him through his website and then through a series of emails he quickly established my needs and went away and created some draft images. With some very minor amendments I quickly accepted the designs which I feel are quite clear, crisp and distinctive and relating directly to the product. The money was paid and the images released to me quite quickly and once uploaded to the App they were soon accepted by Apple where my feeble attempts had failed.
This was a sobering lesson for me. In future the areas I struggle with I shall outsource to a professional at the beginning and not the end of the process. This is also why I chose StudioPress Themes every time for my websites
If you are looking for a Graphic Designer then please have a look at Gary Harrison Design, I was pleased with what he did for me, although like everything it came at a price.
Now the App has been downloaded over 200 times on Android and I am waiting for the first stats from Apple. The purpose of the App was to direct traffic to my Silver Makers Marks website and my Antique Silver Showcase website. This it is now clearly doing.
I shall report in a separate blog post on the effects this has on earnings from these sites.
